What is Blended Learning

A style of education in which students learn via electronic and online media as well as traditional face-to-face teaching.

What is an example of blended learning?
A student might attend classes in a real-world classroom setting and then supplement the lesson plan by completing online multimedia coursework.
What is the advantage and disadvantage of blended learning?
Because contrary to the traditional methods, blended learning doesn't require the trainer to be present all the time. Traditional classroom settings are constrained to a limited number of people at the same time. For some training topics, it's impossible to transition to online training completely. Efficient use of instructor time.
What is the difference between online and blended learning?
The online learning environment relies on computers connected to the internet. Responsibility for learning shifts primarily to the learners. By contrast, blended learning is a mix of face-to-face teaching and the online approach.
What is the Flipped Classroom
The flipped classroom is a form of blended learning. The student is first exposed to new material outside of class. Flipping the classroom improves comprehension. Students have more autonomy over their learning.

The 6 Multimedia Elements Found in Blended Learning

The art of combining solid instructional design with various media elements in just the right amounts creates powerful learning experiences.

TEXT
Good eLearning requires correctly formatted content or even information reformatted and reduced into an infographic. Infographics convey a lot of information quickly and interestingly.
GRAPHICS
Describe a story with rich graphics, photos and composited images. Images, when composited together, create a vision greater than the parts.
AUDIO
Video and animation are only half as effective and impactful without quality voice, narration, sound overlays and effects.
VIDEO
Video is used effectively online with a duration between a 5-second clip to 10-minute demonstrations. As a result, video is a well-proven immersive way of learning. Moreover, good reliable video can play where other technology fails.
ANIMATION
2D animated graphics or 3D animations are great ways to create immersive learning explainers.
INTERACTIVTY
Interactivity is the glue that holds online learning together. In the form of navigation, quizzes, stop/starting animations, creating multiple pathways, to name a few examples.
